IPTV Pro and IPTVX are closer competitors than their similar names suggest. Both organize user-supplied live channels, movies, and series. Both support common M3U and Xtream-based sources. Both offer an Apple TV app, mobile apps, synchronization, a TV guide, favorites, and Continue Watching. Their offline features are limited to specific platforms.
The difference is product scope. IPTV Pro concentrates on a streamlined M3U and Xtream experience across native Apple apps. IPTVX extends into a broader media-center role with Plex, SMB, custom EPG sources, catch-up, multi-screen viewing, advanced video formats, and more playback controls.
The short answer: Choose IPTV Pro when you want a focused player for M3U or Xtream Codes, including a native Mac app and cloud continuity across Apple devices. Choose IPTVX when you need Plex, SMB, custom XMLTV/EPG input, catch-up, Picture in Picture, parental controls, HDR features, or support for older Apple operating systems.

Source compatibility is the first decision
If your source is a remote M3U playlist URL or an Xtream Codes login, both apps are candidates. IPTV Pro can organize live channels and compatible VOD from M3U; its separate movie, series, and EPG catalogs come from Xtream sources.
IPTV Pro stops there. It does not try to become a client for a home media server, and it does not accept a separate XMLTV guide for an M3U playlist. Its EPG comes from a compatible Xtream source.
IPTVX supports a wider range of setups. Its listing names Plex and SMB alongside M3U and Xtream, and it allows an arbitrary EPG URL with GZIP support. Recent version notes also describe custom EPG assignment and M3U catch-up support for compatible playlists.
If you need Plex, SMB, or a separate EPG feed, choose IPTVX. If all you need is a well-organized M3U or Xtream library, the extra source types may add no practical value.
Apple platform experience
IPTV Pro ships distinct native experiences for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. The Mac version is a first-class target rather than an iPad app made available on Apple-silicon Macs. That matters if the desktop is part of your regular viewing setup.
IPTVX lists iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV as its main platforms. Apple also shows Mac compatibility on Apple-silicon hardware, beginning with macOS 12. For many people that is sufficient, but it is a different proposition from a dedicated native Mac version.
IPTVX has the advantage on older operating systems. IPTV Pro’s current minimum of version 18.6 across iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV means it is aimed at newer devices. IPTVX reaches back to version 15 on those platforms. Check the oldest device in your household before comparing anything else.
TV guide and live viewing
On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, IPTV Pro provides an EPG grid when the Xtream provider supplies guide data. Its Apple TV app shows provider-supplied program information but does not currently expose the same full-grid control. Search, favorites, category filtering, and fast access to live channels remain available across the supported platforms.
IPTVX provides a deeper guide toolset. In addition to its TV Guide tab, its listing and recent updates describe program reminders, custom EPG matching, catch-up, search actions, preview playback, and recording-related actions. It is the more capable option if managing guide data is a central part of how you watch.
The source still determines whether guide entries are accurate. A player can improve presentation and matching, but it cannot invent a reliable schedule when the provider supplies none.
Movies, series, and offline viewing
Both apps go beyond a simple channel list. IPTV Pro separates movies and series, tracks progress, and offers Continue Watching across its Apple apps. Its Up Next prompt is available on iPhone and iPad. Supported movies and Xtream episodes can be downloaded on iPhone, iPad, and Mac when the source permits it; Apple TV remains streaming-only.
IPTVX also provides dedicated movie and series pages, Continue Watching, next-episode behavior, subtitles, audio-track selection, recommendations, and offline mode on iOS. Its feature set is broader, while IPTV Pro’s presentation is deliberately more restrained.
If offline viewing is essential, test it with the actual source before buying either app. Download availability can depend on how the provider exposes a movie or episode and whether its server permits the transfer.
Synchronization
Both products advertise cloud-based continuity. IPTV Pro synchronizes playlists, favorites, and watch history across supported Apple devices. IPTVX uses iCloud to make app data available across its supported devices.
The practical question is not simply whether “sync” exists, but which objects you need synchronized. Test playlist changes, favorites, and viewing progress separately during any free evaluation period. A sync system may cover one category of data more completely than another.
Pricing
The two current monthly prices are the same in the US listing: $3.99. IPTV Pro shows a $34.99 yearly plan and $59.99 lifetime access. IPTVX shows a $28.99 Full yearly plan, plus quarterly, six-month, family, and TV-oriented purchases.
IPTVX’s menu offers more ways to pay, but the similarly named purchases can make a direct comparison difficult. Confirm which platforms and features a plan unlocks before buying. IPTV Pro’s three-plan ladder is simpler, though its listed annual price is higher.
Which one should you choose?
Choose IPTV Pro when:
- Your sources are remote M3U playlists or Xtream Codes.
- You want native versions for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV.
- You prefer a focused interface over a large set of media-center controls.
- Playlist organization, Continue Watching, sync, and offline VOD on iPhone, iPad, or Mac cover your needs.
Choose IPTVX when:
- You need Plex, SMB, custom EPG URLs, catch-up, or manual EPG assignment.
- You use Picture in Picture, AirPlay 2, multi-screen viewing, parental controls, or HDR formats.
- You need support for an Apple device that cannot run version 18.6.
- You want more subscription durations or a family-oriented plan.
Our verdict
IPTV Pro is the better fit for someone who wants IPTV to feel simple and native across current Apple devices. It covers the two source types most users bring, includes the core library features, provides a dedicated Mac app, and supports offline viewing on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
IPTVX is the stronger power-user choice. Its wider source compatibility and deeper EPG, catch-up, display, and playback options make it more flexible. Those are real advantages, not checklist noise, when your setup depends on them.
The right decision is therefore less about which app has more features and more about whether IPTVX’s additional features solve a problem you actually have.

Can I use the same playlist in IPTV Pro and IPTVX?
Usually, when the source is a valid remote M3U playlist URL or Xtream login. You must add it separately to each app, and any provider limits on devices or simultaneous streams still apply.
Which app works on older Apple devices?
IPTVX supports older software according to its current US App Store listing: iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS 15, plus Apple-silicon Macs from macOS 12. IPTV Pro requires iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS 18.6 or macOS 15.6.
Do IPTV Pro or IPTVX include TV channels?
No. Both are media players. You must provide your own legally obtained source, and neither app controls the availability, legality, or streaming quality of that source.
